Last Minute Cruises and Affordable Discounted
Labels: Cruise Deals, Last Minute Deals
1. Find last minute cruises. Last minute cruises as the name implies are scheduled to depart fairly soon. In order to fill places on the cruise ship, cruise lines often find it necessary to discount fare significantly. This works to your advantage in regards of getting extremely affordable tickets among the most luxurious of cruise lines.
2. Choose Discount Cruises. Discount Cruises are like a sale cruise in which the line is making a temporary price reduction or special in order to attract business. Again this often works extremely well for the individual wanting to make sure they get on at an extremely affordable price. Like with the last minute cruises, you must strike while the iron is hot. These specials usually don't last that long and it is very important to jump at the chance when you see fit.
3. Use a service to find cheap cruises. In todays travelling society. There are plenty of resources that will find you the most affordable cruise for whatever it is you want to do. Whether it is cruising the Caribbean or travelling through Europe , services are available to help you find the most affordable cruises and often guarantee them at the lowest price.
4. Choose your cruise line and cruises wisely. Dependent on where you go and who you go through, cruises can range from thousands of dollars to just over a hundred bucks. So if you are looking for a cruise that fits your pocket book then act accordingly. But be advised, sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you get more. Just make sure to review the cruise line you are considering and read about your trip first. These are just a few of the many ways you can save on your next cruise. Whether its last minute cruises or a discount cruise line, there are always a way to make sure that you get that vacation you've always wanted, and the rest and relaxation you deserve. It pays to shop wisely and be a smart consumer. Many accommodations such as these are considered luxuries so the prices often coincide.

Bahamas Cruises Cheap One Day Cruise
Labels: Bahamas, Cruise Deals, Cruise Guide
Everything's Easy in the Bahamas There are so many great things about cruises that head to the Bahamas. Getting from the ship to shore is either an easy walk or short boat ride. There is also ease of communication; just about everyone there speaks English. Finally, while the Bahamas has its own currency, they are more than happy to accept American dollars.
Pick Your Own Type of Fun Of course, cruises to the Bahamas are not only about the cruising. There are also activities and excursions available once you get to the islands. It does not matter what you enjoy, you can find it there. If you have always wanted to take your family jet skiing or out sailing, you can do it on these beautiful tropical islands. Maybe you have always wanted to try a bit of gambling, but did not want to risk a lot of money. Not a problem. If you go to one of the casinos in Freeport, they still have the old nickel slot machines. For a couple rolls of coins, you can have hours of fun. Sure, at the end of your evening, you will probably be coin-broke. However when was the last time you had hours of fun and it only cost you around five dollars?
Safe Bet You can also return from one of your cruises in the Bahamas with a bit of a flavor of the islands. For a few dollars, one of the workers there will do corn rows in your hair. Now, here is a little tip about that: if you (or a family member) wants to get just a couple rows: three, four, a half dozen - just pay a couple bucks per row. On the other hand, if you elect to have your entire head of hair done, then negotiate a full price beforehand. Do not let them charge you on the "per row" price! Believe me, they will tug and pull and squeeze, and somehow manage to get twenty to thirty rows on your head. Do the math - at two to three dollars a row, you could wind up with a sizeable bill. With a little caution and some careful planning, you can be assured of a memorable Bahamas cruise.

Liquor On Cruise Ship
Labels: Cruise Guide, Cruise Review
That brings us to the liquor. I have a few thoughts to share with you. The first one is, they don't allow you to bring your own liquor on the ship, but no one ever checks. In all the cruises that I have been on, no one has ever checked, asked or cared about my liquor. The main technique that I use is to pour my rum into an empty Listerine bottle. They look almost exactly alike and no one has ever checked. You are also permitted a "small amount" of soft drink with you, which I of course, use for my mix. If you need more, you can buy soda pop on the ship. It might seem expensive but if you don't think of it as buying pop, and think of it as buying an alcoholic beverage instead and it will seem quite inexpensive. If you want to bring an unopened bottle of liquor onto a cruise ship, the truth is that no one will likely check. The security at the embarkation port are Coast Guard who are only looking for explosives and other terrorist-related materials. If you bring a bottle of whatever and you are discrete about it, you will just walk right on with no problem. Just for fun, I usually buy their, "drink of the day" on my first day, then you keep the glass and keep using that glass for your own drinks that you mix in your stateroom and take where ever you want.
And finally, lets see if we can save a bit of money too. I live in Canada where good liquor can be very expensive. Usually, I will just bring my homemade wine with me on the ship but at my first port of call I will buy a bottle of rum and bring it on with me. Ships have liquor collecting stations but again, no one will check. I sometimes bring it to them if I want to bring the bottle home, but if I want to consume it on the ship I just take it on with me and don't say anything. Here is an important consideration though, some duty free shops will transport your purchases directly to the ship whether you want them to or not. Make sure you check with someone. Again, sometimes I appreciate this service. They take care of my liquor, then it get sent to my stateroom on the last night of the cruise. But if I want to bring it on with me, I always ask first. Please visit my blog below, for more tips on how to enjoy your cruise.

Mexican Cruises Great deals best Top Beaches
Labels: Beaches, Mexican Travel, Travel Tips
Explore the Beaches Gorgeous white sand beaches are just off the boat, and you can get to them by transport if you want to be on the beach and in the clear blue waters. You can explore the jungle, swim in the natural pools and play on the water slide made by nature. Enjoy the brightly colored fish in the waters while snorkeling. Go to Catalina and see the famous undersea garden there.
Mexican Cruises are Truly Restful and Laid Back While you are on the cruise, one of its popular destinations is the Mexican Riviera, where you can hike through the jungles and look for whales in the ocean. There is no end to the fun you can have onshore! Any ocean liner you are on will be up-to-date with modern amenities on shore, dining, shops, a gym and more! Should you decide not to take advantage of the stops and opt instead to remain on the ship, everything you could want is available. Some cruise ships have rock climbing right on board!
What to Pack On board during the day the dress is casual, so sports clothes and resort wear will fit the need. Low heeled shoes or sneakers for deck activities and sight seeing are desirable, and don't forget to bring your swimsuit! For evenings on cruises to Mexico, there are three types of clothing you will want: casual dress should include pantsuits for women and suits for men, while formal attire might include cocktail dresses for women and tuxes for the men, who can rent one on board. For ashore, comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunscreen are essentials. And of course don't forget your camera!
Extending your Vacation Some of the Mexican cruises offer packages at resort hotels near the ports where the ships are boarded. This is a nice addition should you want to extend your terrific Mexican vacation. It would be nice to spend some extra time if you have it just sitting in the beautiful jungle watching nature at it's best as it shows off the green and bright colors of the flowers and birds.

Weddings Onboard Cruise Ships
Labels: Cruise Guide, Wedding Party
Cost is a particular issue because although couples who are marrying again tend to be older and therefore may be better off than they were the first time around, they are also likely to be stumping up the entire cost themselves. In fact, wedding planners at P&O Cruises have disclosed that the payment almost always comes from the couples themselves, and there is no evidence that the fathers bride is coughing up the funds for a second time, this is also true of the one in four couples for whom the wedding is the first time. A further interesting find was that there has been a distinct shift northwards in those couples choosing to marry onboard. Southampton, P&O Cruises' home port, has always been a winner for those in the South for the convenience, but statistics have shown that in comparison to 2006 where 44% of all P&O Cruise's wedding couples came from Southern England, and just 30% from Northern England, 2007 saw a complete turnaround with 59% coming from the North and just 30% from the south. Couples marrying onboard tend to be younger than the typical passenger, with an average groom age of 45, and brides averaging 41. The youngest couple of all those tying the knot in 2007 was just 21, with the oldest being a groom of 87 marrying his bride who was 74 years old, who said romance was dead..?!
Aside from the lower cost, the incorporated honeymoon and the magic of tying the knot at sea, there is a final, rarely admitted plus point which makes running away to sea a very tempting option for many couples. Weddings held in the UK often have huge guest lists filled with people you feel you should invite, but don't necessarily want to invite! We've all got a relative or "friend" out there who could potentially put a downer on your day, whether it's the dress, the flowers or even your future husband they have taken a dislike to, a wedding at sea can save you all this bother. In 2006, the average guest party size was 6, with a rise to 8 in 2007. This increase may be due to booking discounts offered to groups of 10 or more. Out of all the couples marrying onboard, nearly half of them choose to invite no one at all, and the largest guest list was seen in 2007, where the ceremony was performed in front of a record 67 friends and relatives. Unless the lucky couple are extremely generous and decide to pay for their guests, the etiquette for inviting friends and family to a wedding at sea is for the couple to send invites to their proposed guests, with information included on how they can book and pay for the cruise, if they decide to join the couple onboard.

Last Minute Tips for a Cruise
Labels: Cruise Review, Last Minute Deals, Luxury
Last Minute Tips for a Cruise : Did you bring enough medication for the whole trip? If you are on prescription medication, it can become such a second nature, that you take it for granted. Make sure you have an extra prescription packed in a separate bag in case your luggage gets lost. Also, make sure you pack a bottle before the day of your trip. Last Minute Tips for a Cruise You do not want to end up leaving your medicine on the bathroom sink and then be stuck on a deserted island with no pharmacy nearby and no way to get to the medication that you need.
Be sure to pack more than one bathing suit. You may want to alternate if you are going to be aboard the cruise for several days. Give one a day or two to dry while you wear another one. There is very little in this world worse than trying to get into a wet bathing suit. Also bring a couple of beach towels if you like larger ones. Much like hotels, cruise ship towels are bath sized towels, and if you want to lounge with them, you might want a larger towel on hand. Flip flops, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen are also essentials if you plan on spending a lot of time on deck.
Last Minute Tips for a Cruise : Bring plenty of film and a notebook. While you want to enjoy your adventure, as opposed to spending all of your time documenting it, you want to be sure that you take plenty of pictures to show to your friends back home, and it might be fun to keep a personal record of all of the exciting things that you are doing, so that you have something to look back on and not just remember what you saw, but how you felt. That kind of record can be more valuable than any video or photo that you take.

Holidays at Sea Take a Long Cruise
Labels: Cruise Vacations, Holidays
A seven day cruise should be your minimum. It will give you time to adjust to a new time zone, unwind from trip preparations and get adjusted to life on board the ship. You also won't feel like you have to squeeze everything in which can cause exhaustion and frustration. A two week cruise is even better since the longer the cruise, the better spaced the ports are call are. Can a cruise be too long? Well, it really depends on the individual and what you like to do on holiday? If you're the type that likes a lot of sight seeing and visiting new places then you may not feel like anything longer than a week. On the other hand, if you like to do some sightseeing and a lot of relaxing next to the pool with a good book then something longer (even 3 or 4 weeks) can be a dream vacation. If you've never taken a cruise before then start with a week at sea and then decide if a longer cruise would be more enjoyable.

Cruises Departing From New York
Labels: Cruise Deals, Cruising Tips
Any Place, Any Time When looking at cruises starting from New York, don't think that you have to limit yourself to only New England destinations. These cruises go to just about any destination to which you may have interest. Want to take a month-long vacation down the east coast, up the west, and back? You can find it among New York cruise options. Care to take a quick zip down to Bermuda and back? How about spending the week seeing Boston, Bar Harbor, and the sights of New England? They are all available as cruises out of the New York port. Sure, New York is located in the north, but don't let that dissuade you from using it as a departure point for your vacation. Cruises from there set sail all year. So, if you would love to spend Christmas in the Caribbean, check out an option from this northeastern state. You can go for a week, two weeks, or longer. Of course, it is possible that you have been to the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, etc. and want instead to partake of another destination. A cruise out of New York can still get you there. You can take a leisurely vacation to Mexico and/or Central America, or cross the Atlantic and meander about the Mediterranean for a while.
Just about Any Price Now, with some of these cruises - namely the very long ones - you are looking at some pretty expensive trips. So, searching for a bargain is a good idea. Don't let the fact that New York City is an expensive location make you think low-priced cruises from New York are impossible. Do a little searching on the Internet at sites like VacationsToGo. Just select New York as your departure point, and scan through the results. You will be amazed at what you can find in the way of fun cruise options that are reasonably priced. Many times, it comes down to the timing of when you can sail. If you can leave within thirty days' notice, you will frequently find a New York cruise at up to 75% off the regular price.

Singles Cruises How Old is Too Old
Labels: Carnival Cruise, Vacation Ships
20-30 Singles Cruises For this age group, there are often plenty of cruises available and full of fun activities. Because these singles are fairly young, most cruises consist of non-stop partying and may not be as serious as another age group. While this age range can certainly find a serious partner, it's more likely that this is just going to be a fun time with the possibility of finding your match.
30-50 Singles Cruises The majority of cruises for singles over 30 tend to be more planned out. Rather than non-stop dancing and all night bar rounds, you can expect to have more interesting games and activities to help you meet others in your age range. These cruises tend to be more about people than about just having fun. Even if you don't find that perfect someone, you can enjoy making some long lasting relationships on a singles cruise.
50+ Singles Cruises These days, it really doesn't matter how old you are, there is a singles cruise for you. In fact, many people hit 50 and find that they are divorced and alone and are frightened about dating again. Joining up with a singles cruise for this age group can be a great way to meet other singles your age, without any pressure. There will be lots of scheduled events and activities to keep things interesting and lively and you will have the chance to interact with a variety of people and make new friends... but who knows, one of them may end up being more than just a friend!
Multi-age Singles Cruises Not all singles cruises are divided up by age. While the majority of people will prefer to stick to their age group, there are still some cruises that take any age at all. These can be particularly good if you find yourself attracted to much younger or older partners, or if you just want to keep the playing field open. Age shouldn't be a big deal in romance and that is what these cruises focus on. They offer the opportunity to enjoy company of all ages in a number of different activities and fun settings that will free you up to chat with others and makes some friends while you keep an eye out for that special someone. Whether you choose to take a singles cruise with a specific age range or one that pays no attention to numbers, you'll find yourself having a blast while enjoying the opportunity to meet other singles. There's no stress about liking someone only to find out they are actually married, since everyone is here because they want to meet someone. Hanging out with like minded singles on a cruise ship is all about having fun and meeting potential partners in a non-threatening situation. What could be more relaxing and romantic than a singles cruise?

Disney Cruise Vacation Is Waiting To Take You Away To Paradise
Labels: Cruising Tips, Disney Cruises, Family
Before you book your Disney cruise vacation, take a moment to consider the accommodations you will need. There are approximately twelve categories that differentiate the rooms and suites available. Think about what kind of view you'd like, whether you'd like a balcony, and how many people you need to fit in each room. Just remember that each room must have at least one adult. If you are traveling with another party, you can link your reservations and rooms online. If you can't make reservations together, just simply speak to a Disney cruise representative who can ensure your rooms are as close together as you'd like. If you want a category one or two room, they sell out quickly so make your reservations as soon as possible. Your vacation begins the minute you set foot on a Disney cruise ship. Whether your trip lasts a few days or more than a week you should not run out of fun activities. The younger kids can take advantage of activities especially designed for them that are supervised by professional counselors. Because parents are issued beepers when they drop off their young children they can enjoy themselves without worry. Even teenagers can enjoy specially designed activities and events just for them. With the wide variety of programs available, everyone in your family can enjoy themselves together or with other passengers their own age.
Once your kids are fully immersed in their own experiences, you can explore all the adults-only areas of the ship. Whether you enjoy shopping, the spa or just want to utilize the adults-only pools there is plenty to keep you relaxed and occupied. Whether you intend to strike out alone or enjoy your family, your Daily Navigator will keep you informed of on-board events and activities. From on-board movie theaters, lounging in the sun, Broadway-caliber shows, or just lounging in the sun, you will certainly have a great time. You could spend your whole Disney cruise vacation on ship and have a great time, but you would miss the beautiful ports of call. Whether your cruise takes you through the Caribbean, the Bahamas or the Mexican Riviera you will find plenty of information to help you enjoy the tourist activities at each port. You might even be lucky enough to enjoy one of Disney's private islands. It is impossible to outline all the amenities available on a Disney cruise vacation in just one article. Between the luxurious and spacious accommodations and the incredible on-board programming you will enjoy every minute of your cruise. Whether you take advantage of the age-specific activities or enjoy your family, the experts at Disney have designed amazing adventures that ensure you'll have the vacation of a lifetime.

Cruising Getting the Best Price
Labels: Cruise Deals, Cruise Review, Cruising Tips
1. Booking your Cruise It may seem logical to book your cruise directly with the cruise line, but this isn't always going to get you the best price. You may find a travel agent can offer a discounted price on the same cruise which means great savings for you. But don't make the mistake of assuming you will get the best quote simply by walking into your high street agent, come on, you have to do a little work to save yourself some money! Which leads me to my next point...
2. Getting Quotes Accepting the first price you are quoted wont always get you the best deal. The key is to get prices from a few different companies. Travel agents work hard to earn commission on each sale, and the more they have to discount for you, means less money for them. Again, this is where a little hard work now pays off later. It seems just about every travel agent promises to price beat, so, take advantage and hunt around for the lowest price. When you have it, why not go back to the most helpful agent, and see if they can beat it? It's not always just the lowest price you're looking for either, P&O, Princess, Cunard and Ocean Village for example will offer onboard credit to selected agents on different dates on many of their cruises.
3. Customer Loyalty It's sad but true; loyalty does not always pay off. You may have received a great deal on your last cruise and have gone back to your same agent expecting another. It is still important to be ringing around. As an existing customer, these travel agents know they already have your custom, they also know you are less likely to be ringing other companies for prices. Obviously, this isn't always the case, some agents will genuinely reward their loyal customers, but it's always worth checking.
4. Booking Onboard We have all been there; 13 nights into your fortnight holiday, and it all feels like it's over far too soon. And, if it's been really good, all you can think about is when you can come back again. Well, good news - on many cruises you will be given the opportunity to rebook a cruise onboard with the purser or at the future cruise desk. They may be offering discounted prices, onboard spending money and lower deposits to secure your booking there and then. If you do rebook onboard, but feel discounts and onboard credit still isn't enough, once you get home, why not check a few prices offered by travel agents? If they can offer a further discount, you may be able to get the booking transferred to them. The best part is, you still get to keep any benefits offered to you for booking onboard whilst taking advantage of the lower price.
5. Cruise Only It is becoming increasingly popular to tailor make your own cruise holiday, this not only gives you the luxury of flexibility with your travel plans, but can be a more cost effective way to holiday. It may be surprising to hear that when booking your cruise package (flights, hotel stays and transfers) with the cruise line, the flight can cost more than the cruise itself! The idea is to get "cruise only". This means you are just taking the cruise from the cruise line and will find alternative flights and hotels elsewhere. Your travel agent can then search around for you to find a suitable flight, transfer and hotel stay as required. This can save you a whole lot of money, and allow you to choose your preferred flight and hotel, too. It isn't always advisable to do this, particularly if it is your first cruise, or if you are going to a destination that you are unsure of, but for many popular cruise ports including Miami, New York, Barcelona and even Vancouver it is very easy to do yourself. Importantly, by booking the flight through your travel agent, you will still be covered by their ATOL license which protects your travel plans, (something to check before booking) and, furthermore, they will be knowledgeable about transfer times and can book a flight that will get you to your destination in good time for your cruise.
6. Shore Excursions My final tip is to do some research on the ports you will be visiting before you go. Yes, I'm afraid it involves a little work on your part, but its well worth doing. It is easy to play it safe and go along with the sometimes pricy excursions offered by the cruise lines, and in many cases, an arranged excursion is a great, safe way to see places. However, often the destination is at the port, so you can explore yourself, or you may find it cheaper to hop in a taxi and head to places you really want to see and not the places the cruise lines want to take you. Also, be aware that if you pay for arranged excursions before you go, and they are cancelled, due to weather or a change in port of call on the itinerary, you may not be refunded. Well there it is, enough inside information to make any travel agent squirm... So go out there, do a little work, and make sure you get the very best deal on your next cruise.

Cruise Dining All You Can Eat or Look at All the Healthy Choices
Labels: Cruise Guide, Cruising Tips
So what can you do on your next cruise to enjoy what the offerings are, without suffering the physical discomfort and the regret for months later? I look at the buffets like real-life menus: You can see all there is to choose from. But in a restaurant you choose your favorite entree from the list, and one or two side dishes--not half the menu, just because it's there. Take a look at what there is to choose from and think about what you really like. If you wanted to make a wise choice, which entree would you select? I'm not saying you have to eat baked fish at every meal for a week, but if you enjoyed broiled snapper as much as fried chicken, why not select the healthier option? Do you really eat six times a day at home? What makes you think it's a good idea when you're on a cruise! Take a look at the fantastic and amazing decorative display of food at the midnight buffet. Then have a taste or two of something for a midnight snack (not a meal) and head off to bed to get some much-needed rest--or to the nightclub to dance off some more calories!
Merely taking a moment to think before you eat can make a huge difference. Not just at each meal, but added up over a week it could mean the difference between going home the same weight or gaining three to five pounds. Don't let the food surrounding you make you feel pressured to eat it all: You're on the cruise for a nice, relaxing getaway; to enjoy the company of your cabinmate and your fellow cruisemates; to see new sights and encounter new experiences; to take pictures and make memories. Enjoy tasting new foods in small amounts. Challenge yourself to find the most nutritious foods and put together the most nutritious meals. Want dessert? There's nothing that says you have to eat the entire serving. Taste a few bites of a variety of sweets. Share your calories with a friend! Remember one of my favorite sayings, "Cleaning Your Plate Makes Your Food Go To Waist" and return from your trip rested, refreshed, and maybe even a pound lighter!

Boat Maintenance a Must for Their Efficient Functioning
Labels: Boat Maintenance
There are certain points that people must keep in mind to keep the boats floating. First of all they must ensure that engine of the boat is flushed completely every time the boat goes into the salty water. The entire boat should also be washed completely using soap and water. The deck must be scrubbed with a non-skid cleaner. The boat should also be adequately covered to protect it from sun and rain. People should also ensure that shafts and props are clean and in top working condition. They should also ensure that valves are fully operational and can be opened and closed. Precaution must be taken that fluid is changed at recommended intervals.

Boat Covers Its Use and Utility
Labels: Boat Covers, Cruising Tips
Boat covers are one such inexpensive yet very useful boat accessory that performs numerous functions to protect your boat. They are colourful, and artistic covers that design your boat in an interesting way, while protecting it from the harmful rays of the sun, that cause serious damage to the boat. The harsh sun rays can damage the exterior and interiors of your boat. They can also harden and cause cracks to occur on the surface and the rubber coats. The boat covers also protect the electronic equipments and console from damaging in the sun. Covering the boats with good quality boat covers will enable keeping the boat free of dirt and dust while moving to and fro in the water. Many times, boats that are unused for some period transform into homes for birds, and other animals like snakes, rodent and mammals too. This causes a lot of damage to the boat, it is therefore wiser to cover the boats while unused and keep it safe.
Boats that travel on rough weathers generally get damaged faster than the close movement boats. Excessive exposure to water and snow causes a lot of damage to their surface. It is advised to invest in a good boat cover at right time, instead of paying for the damages later. Boat covers are generally available in two types, universal and customized. Universal boat covers are available in several standard sizes that fit most boats but many a times, they are not the way u would wish it to be. They are cheaper compared to the customized boat covers that are tailored to fit your boat and match your precise requirement.

Dolphin 25 Fisher Plans are Ready
Labels: Cruise Guide, Cruise Vacations
Some of the readers of this magazine are aware that I built the ‘Nicky J Miller” as a frameless yacht but she was actually built out of strip planking. (visit www.dolphinboatplans.com and follow the links to “The Nicky J.” She has seen ( and survived! ) some fearful seas and has performed faultlessly over the last six years. So any sceptics should rest assured that it isn’t just a ‘flash in the pan!” The ongoing wonders of epoxy! However, I digress, back to the D25. Several design changes were made during the initial construction. The boat was turning out to be much larger than I had perceived it in my mind’s eye and I realised that we could get the boat strong enough for a really big outboard if people wanted one, if we made a few changes to the pod and the transom. In fact the D25 is fitted with a 90 h.p. Yamaha outboard and It can take any thing up to a 120 hp motor. The pod has a large amount of positive buoyancy and keeps the stern up nicely giving a few benefits along the way. These include, heaps of room inside, clear space out on deck for fishing diving gear and passengers. The outboard is quieter of course, being so far aft and the pod’s buoyancy helps the boat stay level when a big handful of power is applied and, more importantly she rides the big stern wave nicely when power is reduced suddenly.
Another exciting innovation with the D25 is that she is absolutely stuffed with around two and a half ‘flotation’ tonnes of the amazing new Thermotec buoyancy foam. Considering that the boat itself only weighs around a tonne, dare I think it, let alone say it, that the D25 that I have built is unsinkable…well, I’ll let you draw your own conclusions! The Thermotec foam is the latest in hi-tech buoyancy foam and it is a boatbuilder’s and surveyor’s dream come true! It is so easy to install, it’s not true. My foam came in two metre by one metre by 15 centimetre black sheets but it comes in evry conceivable shape, square and round.

Book a Cruise Vacation How to Research and Ideas Tips 2008
Labels: Cruise Vacations, Travel Tips
1. Who's Going? Depending on the age of your travelers and whether you're planning a romantic getaway or a family fun free-for-all is going to have a defining impact on the type of cruise you choose. By determining well in advance who will be going, you can really narrow down the choices.
2. What's Your Budget? Setting a budget in advance will help you plan how much you spend and the type of cruise vacation that you can afford. A typical cruise vacation costs about $100-$300 per day per person, excluding airfare. Booking early, booking last minute or being willing to take an inside cabin are ways you can save money on your cruise. Inside cabins do not have a window view of the ocean.
3. How Much Time do You Have? Knowing how much vacation you have will help you narrow down your cruise choices. For example, if you only have 5 vacation days available, you won't be indulging in that 3-week adventure up the coast of East Africa. Typically, a week's vacation allows for a solid 5-7 day cruise in the Caribbean. It can also work depending where you are in North America, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and even the South Pacific.
4. When Do You Want to Travel? Having a rough idea of when you want to go will help you focus on specific sailing times and even destinations. For example, Alaska cruises only operate during the five summer months.
5. Where Do You Want to Go? From Africa to the Caribbean to the South Pacific, cruises travel all over the world. If you know, for example, you want to explore the cities of the Mediterranean, you'll be able to focus your search on Mediterranean cruises.

Ecuador : Carnival in Ecuador lasts a couple of weeks and is usually celebrated with water balloons, crazy string, flowers, fruit and more water. Cruise Ship Family Vacations - Safety Tips
Labels: Cruise Review, Safety Tips, Vacation Cruises
1. Check your ship's report card The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a department called the Vessel Sanitation Program. That program inspects ships on a regular basis for cleanliness, food preparation, hygiene, water control, rodents and disease prevention. Upon inspection, each ship is given a report card that is then made available on the CDC web site. Before you book your next cruise, look up your specific ship's report card to check their grade.
2. Put safety first Before you book a cruise, even a "family" cruise or a "kid" cruise, always make sure you know the cruise line's policy on child safety. If they don't have one or if it isn't readily available to you, then they are not the cruise line for you. Ask about their daycare employees, the activity counselors and the children's guides - are they qualified to work with children? Do they have first aid certification? Have they been thoroughly screened? What background checks has the cruise line done? How does the cruise line keep track of every child when parents aren't present?
3. Be diligent, especially on shore Admittedly, a cruise can feel very safe. It's an enclosed environment, but that doesn't mean parents can fully let down their guard. Kids can still fall, slip, get hurt, wander into unsupervised or dangerous areas and generally do what kids do. Despite the childcare, the amenities available to you and the enclosed space, never forget that you're a parent. If you're going on shore with your children, keep a close eye on them and try sticking to cruise-ship organized activities.

Cruise Tips
Labels: Cruise Guide, Cruising Tips, Travel Tips
Just being aboard a cruise ship is a vacation in itself. There are so many different activities aboard at any given time that you'll never have to be bored unless you want to. This explains why many folks enjoy a "Cruise to Nowhere," as it's called, where they depart a certain port and don't stop anywhere until they return a few days later. But that having been said, it's a great experience to visit new places. You'll have to decide whether you want to visit tropical ports, take an Alaskan or European cruise, or one of many other options. Try to get 'in the know' about what's available, where and when. For instance, a particular cruise line may or may not be visiting a certain port every week, so if you have certain destinations in mind, look into the offerings of different cruise lines to see what fits your needs. If you can be a little flexible about what week you'll travel, you'll find it easier to make it to most, or all, of your desired ports.
When it comes to your stateroom, I suggest that you strongly consider booking an interior room. These are far less expensive than balcony staterooms. You will find that you spend very little time in your stateroom, other than to sleep and dress, so why pay more for a balcony or suite that you will see very little? There is always more than enough room on deck to find a beach chair, relax, and enjoy the view outside. There are a few exceptions to this - for instance, if you're going somewhere such as Alaska where you'll be able to see something outside besides water, it's nice to have a balcony to enjoy the ever-changing views. Or, if you are physically handicapped to the point that you'll spend a great deal of your cruise in your stateroom, then of course this would be another reason to go for a balcony. But as a rule of thumb, because we spend very little time actually in the stateroom, we usually prefer inside staterooms due to the great price. I also recommend that you look for an inside stateroom on one of the higher decks. This puts you closer to the dining and other facilities above - something you'll appreciate when those elevators are full and you have to take the stairs.

Where to go on Your Cruise Ship Vacation
Labels: Attractions, Ships, Vacation
Tropical Cruises : Tropical cruises are very popular for cruise vacation travel If you enjoy the heat, then there are many cruises that are based in hot sunny, tropical areas. You can choose to enjoy the beaches of the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, or South America, for example, as well as many other tropical destinations. There are many different destinations to choose from, where you can enjoy a tropical climate. To get a great deal on these vacations, consider looking for those that are offered during the off season. This can be the ideal time to go because temperatures are just cool enough for you to really enjoy them and you can save a great deal of money too.
Cultural Experiences : There are a number of different cruises that give you an option of experiencing different cultures. There are many cruises around Mexico and South America for instance. You can cruise around parts of Asia or even Europe and Africa. The world is full of possibilities when it comes to a cruise ship vacation. You have the opportunity to discover many interesting places that you can visit on these cruises as well. Most cruise ships will make several stops at various ports to allow you disembark and spend the day exploring and buying souvenirs
Experience the Beauty of the North : If you don't enjoy the hot temperatures of a tropical cruise vacation, then you should consider going north instead of traveling towards the tropics. There are some excellent cruise vacations available. If you want to see the most incredible and beautiful locations, consider going north. Cruises to Alaska, for example, give you the opportunity to see some amazing scenery that is just unparalleled in it's beauty and splendor. On an Alaskan cruise you are very likely to spot native wildlife on the shore, and whales in the ocean. Cruising the Norwegian Fjords, is another popular option, and an opportunity to see some breath taking scenery.
How To Get Rid Of Cruise Misconception?
Labels: Cruise Guide, Cruising Tips, Travel Tips
Others are afraid to try experiencing a cruise for he/she might be seasick. Seasickness is normal back in the past, but nowadays, the ships are so smooth-sailing, so they do not have high tendency to let you have seasickness. The chance to travel is worthwhile, you do not need to be very cautious about it. The biggest mistake a person could think is he or she may not feel comfortable. The reason why he/she is trying to evade from cruising is that there are many people who could not drink, and those who could. There are people who are like that, but I am like this is the usual drama. You do not need to worry about that, we could solve this problem anytime soon.
For younger people, they do not consider joining the older population. They think that it is not good to be in a cruise and travel because people there are all old. This is half the truth, but let us appreciate the fact that you are there and you are unique. Meeting people along the way is not something to be afraid of bridging the differences. These are just some of the many misconceptions. These are not that strong for someone who has in his heart what he does. And, sometimes we need to look for other things... when the fact is that they are just close to our grasp. Travel, it is a chance to be enjoyed and not wasted.
Cruise Travel How to Prepare For Travel On the Ship
Labels: Cruise Vacations, Travel Tips
What to Pack on a Cruise Vacation : Ultimately, what you pack is going to depend on your destination. An Alaskan cruise will require different clothing than a Caribbean cruise at the height of summer. That said, don't let land temperatures fool you. Particularly during the winter months, some cruises (like those leaving from L.A.) can be quite cold. Regardless of the forecasts on land, always pack a wind-resistant jacket and at least one set of clothes that will allow you comfort up on deck when things get chilly out at sea. You'll also need proper identification and proof of purchase to board a cruise ship. These will be required at every port-of-call, so pack your papers (including your health insurance) in a water-resistant envelope that's small enough to carry with you if you plan to leave the ship.
Medical Considerations : You will most likely need travel health insurance for your next cruise vacation. When purchasing travel insurance, try to find one that's geared specifically toward cruises and the legal intricacies of international waters. Secondly, pack any needed medications. You may even want to pack extras or a spare if you intend to go to shore. For example, an asthmatic may want to pack one inhaler to carry in a pocket and another backup inhaler just in case. Most cruise ships have a medical clinic and doctor or health professional on-board the ship, but this is typically a stopgap measure, not a full-proof backup.
Finally, if you're prone to motion sickness, you can prepare for your voyage with basic ginger root. An herbal remedy, ginger root has been proven to help with seasickness while avoiding the side effects common with many pharmaceutical motion sickness remedies. Herbalists recommend taking the ginger root starting a few weeks before you actually leave on your cruise.
What You Should Leave Behind : Always leave behind a full travel itinerary and emergency contact information with family and friends. Most cruise lines offer an emergency number that can be used by family and friends in case they need to get in touch with you urgently.

Caribbean Cruises is a Popular Vacation Choice
Although there are many cruises available to many destinations, the Caribbean still remains a popular place to visit on a cruise vacation. All the those imagined tropical scenes are reality in the Caribbean. The Caribbean has hundreds of beautiful islands and stretches from the tip of Florida down as far as South America. There are over 50 popular different destinations you can choose to visit. Some examples of popular cruise destinations include: The Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Aruba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Belize. Exploring the Caribbean on a cruise ship is ideal, and many people take advantage a cruise as a relaxing and convenient way of taking a vacation. The cruise ship is just like a floating hotel which takes you to visit some of these beautiful islands without you needing to worry about planning travel arrangements.
A Caribbean cruise works for everybody. A cruise offers plenty of opportunities to relax alone or to have fun and participate in great entertainment. Some people enjoy the Caribbean island hopping type of vacation. This type of cruise has a port of call everyday at a different island. There is time to go and visit and absorb the local atmosphere and culture before boarding the cruise ship again. Every Caribbean island has its own unique history and culture. The cruise lines offer guided tours or you can go off and explore on your own.
For others, however, a Caribbean cruise is a time for relaxation. It is a time to soak up the sun, eat wonderful food, and take a few days away from routine and schedules. There is no need to even disembark the cruise ship when it stops at a port of call. Some cruise passengers enjoy visiting a different beach every day, rather than sightseeing.
Sydney Harbour Cruises
Labels: Cruise Deals, Cruise Vacations, Sydney Harbour
You could also choose to go cruising on a Sydney Harbour Cruise at sunset, one that takes you out on sea for an hour and a half. It begins at sunset and takes you past all the important sights of Sydney while you cruise into the dark. And while you are sailing, enjoy your chilled champagne, canaps and a two-course dinner that includes wine. Can you ask for more? Of course, you can. You can choose to go on a short caf cruise which takes you to the upper regions of the Middle Harbour and/or Sydney Harbour. Only if you do go on these cruises will you enjoy the most breathtaking sights of this majestic city. This cruise lasts for about 2 hours and docks in the upper parts of Middle Harbour where you will find large waterfront homes, beaches, parks and marinas. You can also have a delightful and refreshing cup of afternoon tea while sailing.
No matter which Sydney Harbour Cruise you choose, you're sure to enjoy yourself, after all Sydney is surrounded by several exciting and challenging activities-whether you are young, single, couples, families or senior citizens. If you love adventure sports, you can get enough of it here too: you can try hot air ballooning or if that doesn't grab you, why not see your first dolphin or whale ever? Perhaps you're taking this cruise just to chill or get away from a busy city life. In that case, take your Sydney Harbour Cruise slowly: sip wine all you like, soak in the sun and eat like a king. And yes, don't forget tot explore the ship.

European Cruises Itineraries Choosing Your Ideal Cruise
* The Greek Isles/Eastern Mediterranean: The Aegean Sea and sometimes the Adriatic as well, with port calls in the Greek islands (Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos, and so on), Athens, Kusadasi, Turkey, and sometimes Istanbul. Some of the cruises also visit Dubrovnik or other ports in Croatia.
* Western Mediterranean: The area from Barcelona or Lisbon to Rome and including port calls in Spain, France, and Italy.
* The Rivieras: The French Riviera (with ports such as St-Tropez), Monte Carlo, and small Italian Riviera ports (such as Portofino). May also include Rome.
* Scandinavia & Russia: The Baltic Sea; Copenhagen, Denmark; Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; Tallinn, Estonia; and St. Petersburg, Russia. May also include Oslo.
* The British Isles: England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, and sometimes France; sailing in the North Sea, Irish Sea, and English Channel.
* Norway & the Fjords: Norway from Bergen up to Honningsvag and the North Cape.
The Black Sea/Middle East The area from Athens or Istanbul to Yalta, with port calls in Bulgaria, Romania, and the Ukraine. Europe cruises may also be combined with the Red Sea (Egypt and Israel).
Special itineraries
* The best of Europe: One of the best ways to see Europe if you’ve never been here before is on one of the 2-week cruises that visit the major cities. These cruises tend to combine aspects of the above itineraries to give passengers a comprehensive (albeit quick) look at Europe. An example is Holland America’s 14-day Northern Europe Capitals cruise from Copenhagen to Rome/Civitavecchia, which visits Oslo (Norway), Antwerp (Belgium), Le Havre/Paris (France), Lisbon (Portugal), Barcelona (Spain), and Monte Carlo, among other ports.
* And there are some Grand Mediterranean–type sailings like Princess’ 12-day Med: from Venice to Barcelona, with port calls in Monte Carlo (Monaco), Livorno and Naples (Italy), Athens (Greece), and Kusadasi and Istanbul (Turkey). You can extend your stay with hotel nights in Venice and Barcelona.
* River cruises: Europe’s inland waterways offer a wealth of cruise opportunities on smaller vessels specifically designed for river and canal travel, including luxurious barges that ply the waterways of inland France, Holland, Ireland, Belgium, and England, offering a close-up view of the local culture.
* There are also larger river ships in France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and the former Soviet counties, as well as in Italy and Portugal.
